Life is Awesome
I had my appointment today with my Pulmonologist. Following up after my January appointment. Mostly we were checking in on the status of my cough that started this whole lung watching adventure (but hey, when you cough hard enough to “pop” your lung and give yourself a pnuemothorax, maybe your cough sucks just a bit eh?). Plus I have not seen him since the PET CT and the latest CT. I stopped taking Advair months ago when...
Enjoy the Ride and Eat Some Cookies
Today was the latest version of the lung nodule saga. The 3rd in the series of CTs that started in September. When I got to my oncology appointment they didn’t have the scan results yet. They got them pushed through, so they looked a tad bit rushed – but what the ultimate result was – there wasn’t a major change. Which was actually less scary than consistent growth (I think? I would consult Dr. Google, but we...
Pink Ribbon for You, and One for You
This weekend was my trip to the Susan G. Komen World Race. I didn’t really fully know what to expect from the trip, but I wanted to keep an open mind, not that I was entirely closed minded about Komen. I have just never been the pink ribbon wearing survivor type. I think they were expecting me to be a WHOLE lot funnier in person… Little do they know, I am really shy (somehow everyone that knows me tells me I am a liar when...
Put on a Happy Face
The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of ups and downs. More ups than downs. After spending a couple of weeks in January freaked out that I truly had metastatic breast cancer in my lungs, we realized your body can’t handle that much anxiety. It just can’t, and it isn’t fair to do that to it. Stress and anxiety are a horrible thing. I considered getting a second opinion. Digging through the world of medicine...
No News is Good News
All I can say is no news is better than official news at this point. Oh, and my husband is amazing. Two of the nodules had some uptake in the PET-CT, but not enough to really be obvious enough to say they are cancer. The lab noted that they are “highly suspicious” for neoplastic disease (cancer), but granulomatous could be a possibility. So there is still a possibility that I am fine. My oncologist explained that this is...
Glowingsss
After the call from my Pulmonologist that he and my Oncologist had decided I needed at PET CT, I worked every avenue to try to fit the scan in before I went on vacation (may sound silly, but a few days away to process either response while I was away sounded good to me). Unfortunately, PET-CT scans aren’t inexpensive, and the insurance companies take a few days to mull that one over. I was at least able to schedule my...
