{"id":3655,"date":"2016-03-28T22:20:43","date_gmt":"2016-03-29T04:20:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/?p=3655"},"modified":"2016-03-28T22:43:14","modified_gmt":"2016-03-29T04:43:14","slug":"shoot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2016\/03\/28\/shoot\/","title":{"rendered":"Shoot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Shoot is the Utah word for sh**.<\/p>\n<p>I got my tumor marker today and it is going in the wrong direction.<\/p>\n<p>I had hoped a Perjeta and Herceptin cocktail added to the Taxotere would really kick the cancer in the nose&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Tumor markers usually need to follow a trend to be deemed useful (if they go up, they do it steadily or ongoing). I am due for my PET-CT in a couple of weeks, so that will ultimately be the guide. Mine have historically matched my progression, so an increase is not good.<\/p>\n<p>If my body shows as stable, it could be the tumor in my head (maybe more by now). So it could all be in my head&#8230; (literally, figuratively, whatever-ally).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Screen-Shot-2016-03-28-at-3.08.48-PM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3658\" src=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Screen-Shot-2016-03-28-at-3.08.48-PM.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-03-28 at 3.08.48 PM\" width=\"692\" height=\"422\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Screen-Shot-2016-03-28-at-3.08.48-PM.png 692w, https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Screen-Shot-2016-03-28-at-3.08.48-PM-300x183.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 692px) 100vw, 692px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If I show progression on my body, we will have to change my course of treatment. Which means we have to try something else and hope it starts beating back the cancer. It means my tumors have figured out how to grow even with Taxotere in my body (along with Herceptin and Perjeta&#8230;). It could mean more tumors while we figure it all out. This is when it gets scarier (to me).<\/p>\n<p>Since we got home from vacation my life has been more attached to my pain maintenance schedule and I have had some spots of concern.
