{"id":524,"date":"2011-02-19T19:09:49","date_gmt":"2011-02-20T02:09:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/"},"modified":"2017-03-18T17:43:49","modified_gmt":"2017-03-18T23:43:49","slug":"my-diagnosis","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/my-diagnosis\/","title":{"rendered":"My Diagnosis &#038; Treatment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was diagnosed with grade 3 infiltrating ductal carcinoma with high grade in situ on December 30, 2010 (the first test showed grade 2, but after surgery the tumor was noted as grade 3).<\/p>\n<p>The tumor was 2.5 centimeters and I was diagnosed as <strong>Stage IIB<\/strong> &#8211; T2 N1A M0. The high grade in situ was noted as &#8220;extensive&#8221; in my lab reports. The tumors (breast and lymph node) were estrogen and progesterone positive and HER2\/neu negative.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The early stage breast cancer treatment I was given\/chose:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2011\/01\/28\/surgery-is-over\/\" target=\"_self\">Skin sparing bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction<\/a> &#8211; 1\/28\/11<\/li>\n<li>Chemo &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2011\/01\/20\/surgery-is-back-on\/\" target=\"_self\">Dose Dense AC Followed by Dose Dense T<\/a> &#8211; Started 2\/25\/11, completed 6\/3\/11<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2011\/06\/25\/home-sweet-home\/\" target=\"_self\">Reconstruction surgery number 1<\/a>: 6\/22\/11<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2011\/08\/10\/zap-zap\/\" target=\"_self\">Radiation<\/a> &#8211; 8\/8\/11 for 6 weeks<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2011\/09\/27\/everyone-deserves-an-a\/\" target=\"_self\">Tamoxifen for 5 years<\/a> &#8211; 9\/28\/2011, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2011\/11\/09\/this-is-why-i-am-not-an-actress\/\" target=\"_self\">stopped 1 month later due to complications<\/a>, started again after surgery 1\/3\/12<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2011\/12\/30\/happy-cancerversary\/\" target=\"_self\">Reconstruction surgery number 2<\/a>: 12\/27\/11<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>On to metastatic breast cancer treatment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On October 6, 2014 a PET-CT Revealed 6\u00a0tumors in my spine, ribs, a few\u00a0active lymph nodes and 5 tumors in my lungs. The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2013\/09\/17\/pesty-mcpesterton\/\"> lung spots were initially found<\/a> on September 17, 2013, but were too small to biopsy. My cancer cells changed, this time I was diagnosed ER+ PR- HER2\/neu+. I later found out I had spots throughout my ribs and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2014\/12\/19\/clavicle-cant-friends\/\">my right clavicle was also active<\/a>. Brain mets 10\/7\/2015. Progression to liver 1\/6\/16.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2014\/10\/24\/mandis-estrogen\/\">Zometa infusions<\/a> &#8211; Started 10\/24\/14, stopped after 3 infusions due to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2015\/01\/07\/2-8\/\">ONJ<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2014\/11\/07\/pew-pew-pew-radiation-complete\/\">Radiation to spine<\/a>, 2 weeks &#8211; Started 10\/27\/14<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2014\/11\/28\/hello-menopause-nice-meet\/\">Oophorectomy<\/a> &#8211; 11\/25\/14<\/li>\n<li>Letrazole &#8211; 12\/9\/14, stopped 1\/30\/15<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2015\/01\/30\/let-chemo\/\">Taxotere, Perjeta, Herceptin<\/a> every 3 weeks &#8211; Started 1\/30\/15<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2015\/07\/17\/ned-and-i-cant-be-friends\/\">Perjeta, Herceptin &amp; Letrazole<\/a> &#8211; July 17, 2015<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2015\/10\/07\/my-husband-is-buying-me-bacon\/\">Spread to Brain<\/a>, Switched Letrazole with Aromasin\u00a0&#8211;\u00a010\/7\/2015<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2015\/12\/06\/insomniac\/\">Xeloda &amp; Tykerb<\/a> &#8211; 11\/25\/2015, stopped 1\/6\/16 due to Tykerb making me ill &amp; liver progression<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2016\/01\/22\/chemo-sads\/\">Taxotere<\/a>\u00a0every 3 weeks &#8211; 1\/21\/16, Perjeta and Herceptin added back in 3\/25\/16, stopped 6\/16\/16 due to progression<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2016\/06\/17\/june-hey-june-dont-let\/\">Kadcyla<\/a> every 3 weeks &#8211; 6\/16\/16 last one 7\/29\/2016<\/li>\n<li>Intrathecal:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2016\/08\/01\/oh-my-i-have-an-ommaya\/\">Methotrexate<\/a> &#8211; Twice a week 8\/1\/16 last one 8\/11\/16 from meningitis<\/li>\n<li>Intrathecal: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2016\/08\/28\/brain-chemo-take-2\/\">Topotecan<\/a> &#8211; Twice a week starting\u00a08\/18\/16<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2016\/09\/08\/all-angle-attack\/\">Xeloda<\/a> &#8211; 2 weeks on, 1 week off 8\/28\/16 stopped 11\/1\/16<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2016\/11\/30\/doxil-bandits\/\">Doxil<\/a> &#8211; every 4 weeks started 11\/14\/16<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2017\/01\/13\/hospiceornavelbineandherceptin\/\">Navelbine and Herceptin<\/a> &#8211; 2 weeks on, 1 week off (Navelibine), Every 3 weeks (Herceptin)<\/li>\n<li>Intrathecal: DepoCyt &#8211; 1\/20\/17 Every 2 weeks, then monthly<\/li>\n<li>Every 3 weeks <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2017\/03\/18\/happens-lung-collapses\/\">Herceptin<\/a>, every day <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/2017\/03\/18\/happens-lung-collapses\/\">Afinitor<\/a>\u00a02\/28\/17<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>My blog posts are recorded from the beginning on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darngoodlemonade.com\/index.php\/timeline\/\" target=\"_self\">Timeline page<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was diagnosed with grade 3 infiltrating ductal carcinoma with high grade in situ on December 30, 2010 (the first test showed grade 2, but after surgery the tumor was noted as grade 3).
